Harris County District Attorney
A District Judge presides over a district court and may handle civil, criminal, family, or juvenile cases. They oversee trials, hear evidence, and make decisions based on the law. District Judges manage cases that involve serious issues, such as major crimes or large financial disputes. They ensure that trials are fair and that all legal procedures are followed. In criminal cases, they may also decide on sentences. District Judges in Texas serve four-year terms and must be have at least four years of experience as attorneys before they can run for this position.
