David Slattery
Since 2005 I have nearly continuously served or led numerous district-wide initiatives which have brought improvements to our schools. As an architect and business owner of over 30 years, I am experienced at creative problem solving and sound financial management. My motivation for serving as an SBISD trustee is based on a simple desire to see our students thrive in the classroom and be equipped for success in life after graduation.

The most pressing issues facing Spring Branch ISD are dealing with the current financial crisis and ensuring that we don’t allow this crisis to adversely affect student learning. I will work to stabilize our financial crisis with continued advocacy with our legislators in Austin while simultaneously evaluating all areas of spending not directly tied to student instruction.

We cannot allow these cuts to result in learning loss for any of our students. I will immediately begin discussions to restore the most valuable programs and staff positions lost in these budget cuts. Every child in SBISD should receive an excellent education, and this belief will guide every budget decision I make.
