Texas Railroad Commissioner, Republican

The Railroad Commissioner serves a six-year term as one of the three members of the Texas Railroad Commission. The commission is to regulates the oil and gas industry, gas utilities, pipeline safety, safety in the liquefied petroleum gas industry, and surface coal and uranium mining. The commission has no regulatory authority concerning railroads. The current annual salary for the Texas Railroad Commissioner is $140,937.
