The Office of Harris County Judge: Probate Court has jurisdiction over decedent's estates, which involves probating wills, determining heirship, and appointing executors and administrators. Additionally, this court handles guardianships, including determining the need for a guardian and appointing one. The Probate Court also addresses issues related to trusts. Moreover, Probate Courts have jurisdiction over lawsuits involving or against executors, administrators, guardians, and trustees. The term of office for the Harris County Judge: Probate Court is four years.
