Judge, County Criminal Court at Law, Democrat

The Harris County Judge, Criminal Court of Law holds exclusive original jurisdiction over misdemeanor cases, specifically those where the allowed fine exceeds $500 or where confinement in the county jail does not exceed one year. This jurisdiction pertains to a variety of misdemeanor offenses. Furthermore, individuals have the option to appeal decisions made in municipal and justice of the peace courts to the County Criminal Courts at Law. The term of office for the Harris County Judge: Criminal Court of Law serves a four year term.
