THE HOUSTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE (HCC) BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS HCC’S GOVERNING BODY. DUTIES INCLUDE ESTABLISHING HCC POLICY AND APPOINTING THE CHANCELLOR. THE NINE BOARD MEMBERS ARE ELECTED FROM SINGLE, GEOGRAPHIC DISTRICTS FOR STAGGERED 6-YEAR TERMS WITH NO TERM LIMITS AND SERVE WITHOUT PAY.

Senate Bill 1 (87th Leg., 2nd C.S., 2021) amended Sections 2.053 and 2.056 of the Texas Election Code to require that unopposed candidates be declared elected for the office sought, if otherwise authorized. Therefore, unopposed candidates will not appear on your ballot.
