Pressing issues facing our district include increasing access to quality, affordable health care and restoring our reproductive rights. To that end, I wrote, and the House passed, the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act to affirm the constitutional right to travel between the states for health care. We must also pass the Women’s Health Protection Act to restore the ability for women to make their own decisions about their families and health as they have for the last 50 years. And we must increase access to health care more broadly. Texas is one of 10 states that have not expanded Medicaid, which would expand coverage to an estimated 1.4 million Texans.
