As an attorney and former At-Large Houston City Council Member, I bring the experience, skills and a bold vision forward that will enable me to address Houston’s lingering regional challenges. I also possess the ability to execute a proactive vision where everyone in our region can thrive. This moment requires a problem solver, an innovator and someone who can create policies that fix broken systems, but that also enables the community to reach its full potential - both today and tomorrow.

The 18th Congressional District deserves quality health care and an economy where we all can thrive. I will work to: expand healthcare access, preserve benefits like Medicare and Social Security that seniors rely on, expand HIPAA so medical decisions about women’s reproductive health truly stay private, and codify the protections of Roe v. Wade. I also will work to: expand economic opportunity for job-seekers in an evolving economy, including through training related to carbon capture and other energy transition technologies, expand access to capital and resources for small businesses, strengthen the right to unionize and collectively bargain, and secure a true living wage for our workers.
