Qualifications: What training, experience and characteristics qualify you for this position?
I'm a passionate advocate for public education and a proud Humble ISD parent. With experience in coaching, training, and leading large-scale projects, I'm known for collaboration and community engagement. I led the popular Humble ISD Parents Facebook group, amplifying the voice of parents and teachers in the district, volunteer in schools and church, and champion transparency and excellence to ensure all students have access to quality education.
Opportunities: What opportunities for improvement do you identify in the District and how do you feel the Board should work towards those goals?
The district needs to continue to build renewed trust and unity. I’ll prioritize open communication, listening sessions and collaborative decision-making led by our expert teachers and staff. By focusing on student and teacher needs, we can mend relationships, rebuild confidence and establish a more inclusive, supportive environment for everyone.
Funding: What actions can the Board take to secure the financial future of the District? Specifically, are there any expenditures you feel should be examined as a cost-saving measure?
I will work with the Board to advocate for proper funding from state legislators. I will champion teacher-led advisory committees that guide spending decisions to reflect frontline needs. By collaborating with lawmakers and educators, we can strive to secure the resources our schools need.
Supporting Teachers: What do you see as the most pressing issues facing teachers in the District? What actions can the Board take to better support and retain teachers?
One of the biggest issues teachers face is burnout driven by high demands, limited resources, and not feeling heard. I believe teachers deserve a voice and a seat at the table. I will champion a teacher advisory council to the Board to ensure that voice is consistent and valued. Our students' success depends on the well-being of our teachers, and we must support, respect, and invest in them.
Future Voters: Assess how the District prepares students to participate in their country’s democracy and describe what the Board can do to support civic engagement efforts.
Preparing students for democracy means teaching critical thinking, civic responsibility, and real-world engagement. I support adding a Non-Voting Student Representative to the Board to elevate student voice. The Board can also promote civic learning through partnerships, service opportunities, and encouraging respectful dialogue across campuses and communities.
