Opportunities: What opportunities for improvement do you identify in the District and how do you feel the Board should work towards those goals?
Our district faces a critical accountability gap, starting with the board and affecting every level. Lack of transparency, irresponsible spending, and weak oversight have eroded trust, harmed students, and disenfranchised staff. Strong governance—through oversight, ethical leadership, and checks and balances—can restore integrity and ensure decisions prioritize students and educators over political agendas.
Funding: What actions can the Board take to secure the financial future of the District? Specifically, are there any expenditures you feel should be examined as a cost-saving measure?
The board is currently operating with a budget deficit and relying on the fund balance to cover its spending. This approach is unsustainable and could lead to future challenges in adequately funding our district. I will work to reduce wasteful spending by reviewing programs for efficiency, optimizing resources, and prioritizing classroom needs. I will ensure funds are allocated effectively so that every dollar supports student achievement.
Supporting Teachers: What do you see as the most pressing issues facing teachers in the District? What actions can the Board take to better support and retain teachers?
The most pressing issues facing teachers in Humble ISD are the increasing workload and expectations placed on them without adequate compensation, resources, or support.

To better support and retain teachers, the Board must prioritize competitive pay and smaller class sizes. We must reduce bureaucratic obstacles to ensure they have the tools necessary for student success, and foster an environment where teachers feel heard and respected.
Future Voters: Assess how the District prepares students to participate in their country’s democracy and describe what the Board can do to support civic engagement efforts.
Portrait of a Graduate provided a vital framework to equip students with critical thinking, adaptability, and civic engagement. Eliminating it due to political influences limits intellectual growth and narrows opportunities. The Board can restore it by collaborating with educators, parents, and the community to ensure students receive a well-rounded, future-ready education that fosters innovation, critical thinking, and civic engagement.
