BACKGROUND: What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?

I serve on my pastor’s support team at my church, I handle my family’s budget at home, I have experience in the classroom as a substitute and I’m not quick to make a decision without great thought, research and prayer.

ISSUES: What are the two most important issues affecting Pasadena Independent School District? What measurable actions will you take to address them?

We have a great District, but there is always room to grow and improve. I would love to see our specialists/therapists and paras’ (especially those who work with high needs students) wages competitive so that we are able to hire and retain who we need. I feel we need to make this a priority for our Special Education classrooms’ safety. Another topic for improvement would include our older building

STUDENT PERFORMANCE: What actions do you support to increase the math and reading proficiency scores across the school district?

Each student is different and many may learn differently. I have a child who has had her struggles with both. We have amazing coaches and teachers who have an impressive way of opening their understanding. If we can have teachers with the most student improvement over the school year lead other instructors, we can inspire and encourage our students
