Qualifications: What training, experience and characteristics qualify you for this position?
I taught English in the SKY Partnership and later served as a school administrator, managing campus operations and supporting teachers. I’ve helped launch a new public high school and currently serve as treasurer of the Northbrook HS PTA. I bring both classroom and leadership experience and a deep commitment to making Spring Branch ISD schools stronger for all students.
Opportunities: What opportunities for improvement do you identify in the District and how do you feel the Board should work towards those goals?
We can improve student achievement by expanding access to academic and mental health support, especially in communities that need it the most. The Board should engage directly with families and educators to develop responsive solutions like stronger early literacy programs, community partnerships, and safe, welcoming campuses across every neighborhood.
Funding: What actions can the Board take to secure the financial future of the District? Specifically, are there any expenditures you feel should be examined as a cost-saving measure?
The Board must advocate for full funding from the state while ensuring current dollars go where they matter most into classrooms. We should examine central office costs and unused contracts, prioritize competitive pay for staff, and invest in programs that improve student outcomes, not bureaucracy. Every dollar should support learning and student success.
Supporting Teachers: What do you see as the most pressing issues facing teachers in the District? What actions can the Board take to better support and retain teachers?
SBISD teachers need stronger support to stay in the classroom. Pay has not kept up with rising costs and morale is impacted by micromanagement and top-down mandates. The Board can help by investing in teacher leadership, reducing unnecessary paperwork, and ensuring every teacher, especially at high-need schools, feels valued and heard.
Future Voters: Assess how the District prepares students to participate in their country’s democracy and describe what the Board can do to support civic engagement efforts.
Spring Branch students should leave school ready to lead in their communities. We can strengthen civic learning by supporting student government, voter registration drives, and partnerships with local organizations. The Board should also model respectful public discourse and involve students in decision-making where possible.
