What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?
As the sole candidate with a legal and public service background, I uniquely understand the experiences of everyday people, and diverse perspectives. Meeting statutory requirements for judgeship, I bring nearly two decades of diverse legal/trial experience for the cases this court hears. I am ethical, impartial, even tempered, and respectful. My commitment to fairness, justice, and analytical decision-making ensures upholding of the rule of law and making well- reasoned decisions based on facts.
What will you do to promote the just, prompt, and affordable resolution of civil cases that come before your court?
By embracing proactive case management, promoting alternative dispute resolution, assisting self-represented litigants, utilizing technology, engaging with the community, and setting a positive example, I will help ensure that cases are resolved justly, promptly, and affordably. I will also uphold fairness in the legal process by treating everyone with respect, adhering strictly to applicable laws and principles, and interpreting the law impartially.
What will you do to ensure that cases before your court are heard in a timely manner?
To ensure that cases before my court are heard in a timely manner, I will actively manage the court docket to identify and address any potential bottlenecks. I will prioritize urgent matters and implement strategies to streamline the process. Additionally, I will promote the use of alternative dispute resolution methods to resolve cases more efficiently when appropriate.
