What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?

I have served as judge of the 11th District Court for seven years. Before taking the bench, I gained a wide breadth of civil-litigation experience in cases ranging from premises liability, medical negligence, wrongful death, construction, property tax, and Social Security disability. I am board certified in personal injury and civil trial law. I am passionate about the judicial system, the right to trial by jury and our system of checks and balances.

What will you do to promote the just, prompt, and affordable resolution of civil cases that come before your court?

I will continue to work to make sure all parties appearing in court are treated with respect and have the opportunity to be heard. I work diligently to make sure matters are heard promptly, and I work closely with court staff to keep cases moving.

What will you do to ensure that cases before your court are heard in a timely manner?

I have found that one of the best things I can do for efficiency is prepare before the parties appear in court. This allows matters to move more quickly and allows me to rule more promptly.
