What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?

As a fierce legal advocate by trade for a quarter of a century, I have the legal experience to write and/or support bills that would be in the best interest of not only the constituents of SD17 but also citizens across the State of Texas when the bills are passed.

Article 7 of the Texas Constitution states that “it shall be the duty of the Legislature of the State to establish and make suitable provision for the support and maintenance of an efficient system of public free schools.” What is your interpretation of what this clause requires of the legislature?

It shall be the Texas legislature's duty to ensure the establishment of an organized, efficient and continuing system of public educational system that is accessible to all its citizens.

How will you ensure that Texas remains a leader in the energy sector through innovation and reliability?

For Texas to remain a leader in the energy sector through innovation and reliability, enacting laws that ensure regulatory certainty will be beneficial to the sector.

What do you believe is the appropriate role of the State of Texas in ensuring that Texans have access to reproductive healthcare, family planning, and pregnancy care and postpartum services?

Article 19 of the Texas Constitution states that "No citizen of this State shall be deprived of life, liberty, property, privileges of immunities by the due course of law of the land," which means that the State of Texas shall ensure its citizens the right to affordable health care.
