I am a 5th generation Texan, a small business owner and the proud graduate of Texas Public Schools. I am raising 2 elementary age children through our public school system.
Being married to a Alvin ISD Highschool teacher has let me see first hand as Politics have shoved the Culture Wars into our classrooms leading to lower educational outcomes and driving teachers from the classrooms.

Alvin ISD is one of the fastest growing districts in the state. Sustainable and Equitable growth over the next decade are going to be key to placing us at the front of the pack and distinguishing our community as a leader in education.
Teacher Retention in our district is unacceptably low. Our local Highschool turned over nearly half their teaching positions last year. We need to reject the heavy-handed policies coming out of Austin that demonize teachers and force them to leave the profession. Instead, we should be giving them the support they need to teach their areas of expertise and build long and fruitful careers in our district.
